Loser
Loser meant the same thing it does now; someone who is a failure. It was accompanied, though, by making an L with your fingers and putting it on your forehead. You just had to make sure you used your right hand so you didn’t point the L at yourself!
Whatever
While this is still used, the height of using “whatever” as a comeback to anything you didn’t have a real response to was in the 90s. Thanks to the movie ‘Clueless,’ it was also often accompanied by a “W” made from both thumbs and pointer fingers.
Going Postal
Going postal means going crazy or freaking out, and it referred to the rash of postal workers in the 90s that went a little off their rockers and did things like shoot up the post office.
Phat
Phat did not mean overweight, it meant something was cool or awesome.
All That And A Bag Of Chips
All this phrase meant that someone or something was the best, so adding a bag of chips meant they were the best and then some!
Talk To The Hand
This meant that you didn’t want to hear what the person was saying. The full phrase was “Talk to the hand ‘cause the face ain’t listenin’.”
Bitchin’
“Bitchin’” didn’t mean “complaining” in the 90s; it meant that something was totally awesome!
Let’s Roll
Let’s roll meant “Come on, let’s go!”
